Genre

In rhetorical elements, genre means the ‘type’ or a ‘kind’ of the text. There are different kinds of writing, such as a memo, emails, or reports. The way things are written, and how information is presented differs depending on the genre. I didn’t know anything about certain genres like engineering memos. In the course, the class went over writing a memo, a technical description, a lab report, a public service announcement, and an engineering proposal.
